#1 by tasman1 » Fri May 14, 2021 22:28

Coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths worldwide per one million population as of May 12, 2021, by country

Per Capita , ask if you not sure what is that

Hungary
Czechia
Bosnia and Herzegovina
North Macedonia
Bulgaria
Moldova
Slovakia
Belgium
Slovenia
Italy
Brazil
Peru
United Kingdom
Croatia
Poland
USA
Mexico
Spain
Portugal
France
Colombia
Argentina
Romania
Panama
Lithuania
Chile

And rest , example India is on 61th place , Norway 72nd place and so on and on

Remember ...... we can not compare India and China with some micro states like Monaco or Vatican or San Remo

Example Hungary have 5 times more dead than India if we look at number of people living in country

No Arvind . it is all about number of people

Let see example ...... Vatican population is under 1000 , they can not have 100 000 dead like India
Or , USA population is 4 times lower but have much , much more dead than India , Brazil too

Look one country that is on top list of dead per capita

Situation was so grave that they used all police and army to try to test whole population , they even removed army from borders to help . Number of people dying from COVID
was that huge

Or another country [ forgot name ] that was in 100% in lockdown for 2 week , no shop was open , nothing

I do not say that India have small number of dead , I just say that India have well over billion people and that chance of dying is same or smaller than in another places

The calculations and statistics are based on (official) numbers released by governments around the world. Not from one country these figures are accurate and correct. Some countries have add(ed) deaths to their total regarding these as possible COVID19 related deaths. Most countries however were /are underestimating by a lot the real numbers because there is simply no telling how many. However probably many more deaths than the COVID19 toll has caused so far are people who have died and (will) die due to no (priority) or delayed regular common medical attention p.e postponed surgeries etc..

In India number of people infected and dead are very inaccurate government figures are only what is reported but those dying and infected athome in remote places are not accounted for its very difficult to even estimate the numbers

I´m afraid what you say is true. For sure numbers in Brazil are not 100% accurate however they are not far off. When there are cases of COVID victims who die outside hospitals or any other regulated institutions the family has to report their death this to obtain a certificate of death and for receiving any benefits like pensions or welfare etc.

One of the most vaccinated countries in the world the Seychelles is experiencing a Covid-19 outbreak.
While other nations struggle to secure enough vaccines, the Seychelles is in the comfortable position of having already fully immunized more than 61.4% of the population. Seemingly that hasn't been enough to stop the spread of Covid.
Over the past month, case numbers have been rising in the Indian Ocean archipelago, prompting authorities to impose restrictions in the country of 98,000 people. Latest data of Thursday show there are more than 2,700 active cases.
Of the current active cases, 33% have been fully vaccinated, according to the Ministry of Health. The fact that the Seychelles, have such high vaccination coverage, and is still facing an outbreak calls into question whether countries can really inoculate themselves out of the pandemic.

In India only 12% of the population has been vaccinated in 125 days many got one dose and the vaccine is no longer available vaccines are changing more often than women change clothes with only a 7 month effective time its impossible to vaccinate the entire population a vaccine that can protect against infection and have an effective time of atleast 3 years is required to make it possible a vaccines first purpose should be to prevent infections which is not there

Another question is how long the vaccines last?? (How long are you protected after 2 jabs?), Is it 6 months?, 1 year? or maybe 2 years?.

Imagine they only last for 6 months, That would put a huge pressure on the demand for vaccines globally and especially for those countries with a huge population, Let's hope it's at least a year like the normal influenza types.

Tasman1, I think Australia needs to lock down the whole country immediately!!!, According to Worldometer there have been 5 cases of Covid-19 recently, It has it's benefits being an isolated Island far away from others ;)

India was doing better in 2020 to control the pandemic with the lockdown implemented at that time and the situation become worse when states were given the rights to release the restrictions. Also the recent festivals and elections made the situation worse. Indis is not poor in administration as being pictured.

Arvind9, I understand things work differently in India but maybe it is time for India to Install a Commission to Investigate Government's Handling of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The same has started here in Brazil. Governments and their presidents, prime ministers and all other responsible public servants need to be hold responsible. They are after all PUBLIC SERVANTS.
