in the context of the corona crisis.

Shouldn't the companies that produce equipment used in this pandemic donate their profits to developing future vaccines?
Alternatively, if they had not produced exactly these things, well they had been shut down like many other companies.

Should these companies donate their profits?

No. Absolutely NO.

Would you want to work for months without pay?

The equipment and all supplies that is used, cost a lot of money.
There is also a lot of people involved in testing and creating these products.
Dare I mention all the costs involved such as things as simple as electric bills.
These companies cannot work without profit. They are a business.
In addition, there are stock holders too.

They are entitled to a profit. Everyone that works is entitled to a profit.

You wouldn't come here and do surveys for 8 hours and not get paid for your work.
Errrr scratch that.

Not all the profits. The pharma companies are the most profitable after the arms and the ammunition industry. But they must act with social responsibility. They cannot use the situation to make a windfall profit. There must be some caps on the retail price that they have to sell. Todays situation is that more people are needed of the vaccine and so their profit must be such that people get the vaccine at affordable prices. Indian model is an example regarding the prices of Medicines.

Absolutely not!

Companies other than pharma companies, wouldn't have knowledge developing vaccines!

Here some valid reasons as to why not:
- Companies are usually require paying some kind of membership fees (fixes or up to certain percent of revenue) annually to associations belonging to!
- New products created would be less or impossible

Below would seems out of topic but since it touches on profit, I saw fitting posting those:

In the past:
- Few GPT programs did had 50% cashout rule
Assume we earned $20, when cashing out, $10 was returned to that said program addition to membership fee!
Why would members joined those programs
In fact those programs quit being in operation

On clixsense (formerly)
- When We used paying yearly membership fee, we were given opportunity upgrade our downline but some referrals were not active.

- A member or a few suggested giving something to other members to help out! Obviously that got refuse!

In summary, Valerie clearly expressed following:

Quote:They are entitled to a profit. Everyone that works is entitled to a profit

That means companies and members here
