I just learnt one thing from this and that is to make sure I backup my Firefox profile, bookmarks, passwords and add-ons before installing a new update. Sync is supposed to do all this but thats where it failed :/

I ended up loosing all my saved passwords on Firefox due to this update. I am assuming the key.db file got corrupted. Tried everything I could but just couldn't manage to restore it
Thankfully, my bookmarks are safe. Chrome is my main browser and I only use Firefox for PTC related work so its not much of a loss but still its a big headache to re-setup everything.

I upgraded to FF 32.0.2 and now sync is no longer working. I checked the Mozilla forum and there are a couple of reports where the same issue was reported.
I will downgrade to 32.0.1 until this is fixed.
