Here is another issue. Parallels 7 is not working anymore. But, there is a solution on their website. Just download the latest version and install it and it will work :
KB Parallels
I see Software Update has been merged into the MacApp store which is pretty cool. Makes things easier.
For those who love to backups here is something important for you.
Download Mountain Lion but don't install it immediately. Go to the Application folder and find the
Install Mac OS X Mountain Lion.app icon. Right click it and click "
Show Package Contents".
Then click on the folder named "
SharedSupport". Inside that you will find 2 files -
InstallESD.dmg and
OSInstall.mpkg
Copy InstallESD.dmg and save it to your hard drive for future use so that you don't have to download the entire 4.34 GB file in case you need to re-install the OS in future.
If you want you can burn it to a Disc too. Mountain Lion won't install on a single-layer DVD so you need a
dual-layer DVD.
Here is a step-by-step method how to burn it to a disc or prepare a bootable external USB drive capable of installing OS X 10.8 :

Let me give you a little hint in case you have multiple Macs but don't want to purchase the OS several times.
My sister too has a MacBook and she had around $65 iTunes credit while I had a mere $0.06
She too wanted to purchase Mountain Lion so she downloaded it through her Apple ID. And once it was finished, I copied the InstallESD.dmg to my Mac and installed it.
So we got Mountain Lions on each of our Macs but paid for just one

And before anyone says anything, let me tell you that it is legal. I am not sure but you can install Mac apps on I think 3 computers (or maybe 5).
As far as iOS apps go, you can install the app you have paid for on 5 different devices.
