So our writing has devolved from the modern alphabet to what the ancient Sumerians & Egyptians were using 4000+ years ago, and modern conversation consists mainly of grunts, gestures & monosyllabic words.

At this rate of regression, it won't be too long until we become cavemen again.

Jim said the change would be today (Monday) so staff would be on-hand in case there were problems. It is only 1:20am in the USA - my guess is the change will probably happen when the business day commences - around 7 or 8am their time (9 or 10pm our time Tas).

Announcement:

Moving forward with change

Quote:...after 10 years in the PTC business, we have decided to move forward without PTC. Beginning July 15th 17th, 2017 PTC ads will be removed from ClixSense. Along with the removal of PTC we have also decided to remove ClixGrid and the premium upgrades, including the corresponding 8-level commission structure. As of today, July 1st we will stop selling upgrades, PTC advertising and ClixGrid. Those of you who have ad credits on your account may still use them until July 15th. Any member who has purchased an upgrade in the last 24 hours will be immediately refunded today. We are stopping the sales so any remaining ad credits or ClixGrid campaigns can expire.

Further update:

Update to changes - July 2nd

When I was a child, my 6th grade teacher (this was in 1977) told the class that, by the year 2000, people would only need to work 3 days a week & everyone would have 4 day weekends. Life would be great with all that extra leisure time. I guess we are on the way there (albeit 2 decades late).

The problem isn't with automation taking jobs. It is more with making sure that income does not drop even when the hours do. Most people I know would love a long weekend every weekend. I once had a job where I did 3x12 hour shifts a week & had the next 4 days off - it was the best 2 years of my working life. But I did get a full week's pay for that 3-day week. If we can make sure that shorter weeks do not mean lower incomes, then things may be okay. Maybe companies which are heavily automated should be taxed more, or companies should have their tax rate worked out on the basis of how much they give back to society via employment of people or contributions to social welfare programs for those displaced by automation.

Farewell Goodbye our Cats in Clixsense » Post #34

Maybe they could keep the cats (and dogs) by making them part of a login captcha at ClixSense? When you log in, you have to click the cat to prove that you are not a bot. Or you could be required to click the cat before you begin a task or offer to prove you are actually a human?

That way, ClixSense (and its members) could continue to help these homeless pets find loving homes.

PLEASE delete this now thank you » Post #21

4.13% this year, 7.37% last year.

I won't miss the PTC ads. Found them to be a time waster - I earn much faster doing surveys. Considering it takes about 45 seconds all-up for a 1 cent PTC ad to load properly & the timer to complete & credit, earning $1 on a 15-minute survey is much more efficient.

I'll miss the times when I get 4 black dogs and a black cat to choose from. The tip of my nose leaving a smudge on the monitor screen as I try to differentiate feline from canine.

What I cannot work out is why you are finding it so hard to earn money here. $27 in nearly 11 months? I earn more than that in a fortnight. And I am a long-term unemployed disabled pensioner living in rented govt-supplied housing who has never owned a car or had a license, dropped out of uni after less than 4 months more than 30 years ago, owns mostly 2nd-hand goods, and who usually ticks the income box that starts with "Less than".

I am not on the radar for most marketers. Yet I generally qualify for at least 2 surveys a day - even did 9 on a single day last week.

Reading this thread, it seems that those who have the lowest active participation rates at ClixSense make up the majority of the ones howling the loudest about the changes.

Sorry!

I'm sure Jim is shaking in his boots. ClixSense can ill afford to lose big-earning members like you. That $1 you earn each month probably covers most of ClixSense's hosting costs.

Fight has just finished. Bit of a surprise result:

Jeff Horn survives the 12 rounds and defeats Manny Pacquiao by unanimous decision.

I won't miss the PTC ads & ClixGrid. Been seeing a lot of scam sites (such as earning $5 for reading an email) lately, and also some dodgy dating sites that were very demeaning to women & more for swingers looking for a quickie than true romantics looking for love.

Plus there were those sites which tried to download malicious files.

The only concern I do have at the moment is whether it will get harder & harder to make the daily checklist bonus over the next fortnight as advertisers stop renewing their PTC ad campaigns.

If sponsor paid for upgrade, who gets the refund? » Post #6

If the sponsor paid then he gets refunded. You will be refunded for this members upgrade so you will not lose out.

Thank you

Thank-you Jim for clarifying that

Of the 4 I upgraded, 3 stayed active for the entire period of the upgrade, and 2 renewed their upgrades when the year I paid for ended. I found that it was worth it - did make my money back from them.

If sponsor paid for upgrade, who gets the refund? » Post #1

I can live with the changes that will be happening in a couple of weeks time - less than 3% of my earnings are from PTC & I make nothing from the grid. Though I do hope that notifications speed up - most of my CINT surveys have expired by the time the ClixAddon lets me know they are available.

However, I do have one serious question about the pro-rated refund of upgrades, specifically those paid for by sponsors.

I paid for one of my referrals to be upgraded about a month before the site lost PayPal. That member stopped visiting ClixSense within a few weeks of that happening, and is now inactive. So it looks I blew my $15, but I always hoped they might return before their upgrade expired. But now that members are going to have the remaining value of their upgrades returned to their accounts, it looks like that member who has not used the upgrade I shouted them will benefit by getting the pro-rated amount of approximately $10 credited to their account. Money for doing nothing.

Is there any way that current upgrades paid for by sponsors through the "Upgrade one of your referrals seen on this page" button on the affiliates page could be refunded to the sponsors who actually paid for them? At least then I would feel that I did not lose out completely by being kind enough to pay for upgrading an (at-the-time) very active member of my downline who decided to stop clicking soon afterwards.
