New Series starting on Amazon Prime  Hope everything is OK, house OK, etc, hopefully you can swim too that helps :D This is one of the perks of living in America among many other things - but no worries to all the victims of these floods, your beloved President has other priorities, like looking at the stars, the edge of the universe and shilling NASA, oh yeah and spending trillions of $ on BS instead of the important stuff. Floods like the one that happened in KY occur globally, even in Canada in some provinces, they have faced similar or worse, and our MUPPET of PM is no better.

No, it's hot AF in KY right now, so she decided to move to Alaska instead - All this moving and travelling, must be jet lag

I do not think the news are all that good - she probably sustained a lot of damage - we'll know one day maybe.....

 Funny stuff.

I am in West KY. The flooding is in East KY.

West Ky is hilly but East Ky is mountainous.

Although there are coal mines in West Ky, they are much more abundant in East Ky. Most livelihoods were made by folks working in the mines. Also often men would work in the mines for months at a time without seeing their families.

Just guessing, because I have been to East Ky in the mountain regions. My guess to the flooding is due to the valleys on the mountains and the stripping of the coal. Of course it was a historic rain. Look at this letter:

V

The top is the mountain.

V
V
V

So if you connected the V atop each other you would get a good idea of the mountain going up up up up while passing lush valleys on your way up. The valleys are like catchpans. It also makes it very difficult for rescue due to the landscape. Difficult to see people and difficult to get them out.

Kentucky has suffered a lot in less than 12 months. Tornados and Flooding. Dare I mention heat and drought. But we had a good downpour last night where I am and the humidity and heat has cooled a little. It won’t be long till Fall.

I’ve been doing some traveling/vacation.

The way they talked about it in the news made it seem like the entire state was under water
Besides, it's never too late to take swimming lessons, assuming you already know how to swim

What did you say FALL ? ALREADY ? It's almost as if summer started yesterday, did it go so quickly this year, how come, it seems time goes by quickly - so now you have to worry about the drizzle, extreme cold weather (so much for global warming eh ? ), 4 hours of shovelling every day, etc, it's gonna be a nasty winter :D

I can't believe the prospects of winter is at our doorstep - it's OK as long as it's not a mild winter, and not too much snow - it would be nice to get a winter like we had a few years ago here, dry all winter, a few inches of snow whole winter, dry ground most of the time, not too cold not too warm just perfect - if it can be all year round this way I would love it even more

Alaska sounds good. I’m tired of the humidity but today was low humidity and it was so nice not to melt.

Same here, the heat wave is over and back to more "normal" temps, what Canadians consider here winter, you know 22-25C  Because we are used to more like 38C-45C. Moving to a cold place has its advantage, you trade away humidity and high heat with nice cold weather - and you don't have to deal with wasps, hornets, ants, termites, scorpions or whatever weird insects you have over there  It seems insects are evolving rapidly, they are becoming more resistant to bug sprays, more sturdy, now spiders run faster, they run, they JUMP, even the small ones, insect population is growing rapidly - I mean insects represent 35-40% of world's mass, too bad that insects are not smart enough to stay outside, they don't get arrested for breaking and entering :D

Too late, the net is dry of anything other than scams - some people are sending me referral links to their scams, nice, I'm way past those gullible years

I took a break too and now back into surveys - I wanted to get into Appen projects but apparently Appen is allegedly in difficulty, plagued by bad reviews, accused of not paying for projects, etc, their support is just TRASH, everywhere you look, there is LOTS of sites online where you can get paid to do stuff, transcription, etc, but most sites are cheating freelancers, by rejecting good work or giving you a hard time not to pay you etc - things are not what they used to be.
