Yeah, they probably hope that the nonsense will go to chat instead of the forum.

Very bad that chat has been introduced again it will only be an nuisance there should have been an option to disable chat so that members who dont want it can remove it. Please don't send me chat requests I have switched it off!

Anyone who does not want to receive private messages can deactivate the function in the chat settings.

Unfortunately, I don't know because I'm not a ySense employee.
Of course you are right that encryption is actually standard these days. I'll ask the administration if it can be implemented.

Big mistake - people will spam their "other sites", request for money, and other - only a matter of time before the feature gets heavily abused. It's too bad we do not have access to our old chat logs - you would be surprised of all the spam I received on CS, offers to buy accounts, offers to tasks cheat, underground forums, way sot cheat tasks, yeah I always suspected there were cheaters in tasks , LOTS, too bad I have not kept those messages. A forum can be moderated. Chats are private i'm sure moderators do not have access to private chats, so they would rely only on reports which may not always happen.

So this is why I asked in another topic, are they accepting bets and prediction :P

They added the chat because people asked for it, years ago

ySense does use https, but NOT for Forum, I don't remember if it was the case with CS also, but we all know CS used plain text (allegedly) so it doesn't matter  Question is, how safe is our data on ySense, is our personal info stored in plain text too (to keep on the legacy :P) are we gonna get a scandal or are we safe here ? Are we gonna get MIB knocking at our door ? :D

Actually Facebook is what PEOPLE make of it, there is a big difference between safety of data, and STUPIDITY ..... No security measures can replace common sense and therefore should not blame Facebook - Facebook is not a babysitter. If people are ignorant enough to put their whole life story and personal information about themselves and their kids, then they should not bloody complain . I have used facebook basically since the old days of CrowdFlower when it was required to have one - never had any issues there - if people put their phone number, home address, where they work, at what bank they withdraw money from at what time they leave the house (yes believe it or not some people do) then it's their problem - data can be safe and secure, but people should understand that their personal profile is still open for viewing, that's the point of SOCIAL media, what I was asking is how SAFE our data is, I'm pretty sure Facebook does not use plain text to store user info - a PUBLICLY HELD company caught doing this would be a complete DISASTER, so I'm sure they would know better - nobody has ever answered the question here about our data, clearly forum is not encrypted, but is that really an issue, it would be if people posted their personal information, and people know better than to post their personal info on the forum - there is only at lest ONE member here that I know of that has all of our personal data, in theory she would be trusted however, not to misuse it    BUT there could be other members with the info, there are some people which I won't name of the past that I would not trust with said info, some are no longer member, some might be - they will have a hard time trying to scam me though, but some people are easy targets, i.e. "Hello, your computer is hacked, you must give me $300 in gift cards so I can repair your computer and no mo virus". sucker at the other end: "Ok here is my money, now fix my computer" - 'nuff said - out of the thousands of "leads" these criminals go to, they will hit the suckers fairly easy, I suspect there is a large percentage of them, not the theoretical 1% :D

The forum is now encrypted with https. It took a while, but now it's released.

Hmmm what good is it to have a secured forum anyway, it's not like people should even be posting compromising and personal information anyway, besides all posts are archived and can be found on the web through google search,
all the naughty posts over the years, all archived

Besides, CS had https, big deal - we all know how that worked out in the end
