That's right, I said it.

I told my sister that PCR opens for new members from time to time and she should sign up.
My sister was looking to get more funds into her PayPal account.

The other day, they were accepting new members. She went to sign up and they told her
she couldn't since she was older than 55 and female.

By the way, their terms do not state an age restriction past 18.

As you know Pinecone Research has very strict quotas and look for very specific candidates . Even if you are a part of these criteria, you may still be rejected if they already have enough members to fill the demographic.

No drama , tell her to try another survey company , 100s more are around

Well I can write a book about Pinecone, a disgrace of a company in my opinion, I think you know my specific case, my account was in excellent standing with them, for years !!! I ignored 2 or 3 invites and boom they ban me, bunch of idiots, they did not even send me a warning nothing, I even had told them in advance I would be inactive temporarily, and I tried to ask them to reinstate me, they were very arrogant, I mean it's not like I was 1 year inactive or anything, so yeah they may pay fast and have good surveys, but their support (the one support person I won't name) is an arrogant person and the support is GARBAGE now. They are discriminatory in my opinion, I received an invite through a survey here, and when I went to sign up again, they refuse my submission, years later !

Now what you are describing has nothing to do with race  did they refuse her because of her race ? No, she did not fit the demographics of age - most surveys target 18-49, that is the key demographics for TV ratings, for surveys, for nearly everything, because of a stereotype that has instilled in the DIRTY minds of business- that past a certain age you are senile, you don't buy anymore food, you don't consume, you don't do anything, I guess they determined that starting at 50, you are busy planning your funeral and not buying groceries - how PATHETIC - it's more a question of discrimination stereotype, and not racism. Pinecone is not the only one that rejects based on age, market researchers are looking for young and gullible people to be influenced and manipulated - Pinecone is not the company it used to be anyway, no loss I guess, it's not like they send multiple invites a day, lucky if they send a few per month at most, I dunno if the US they send more, but anyhow, ask her to join ySense, she will earn far more than PineCrap research, being a US member there are more opportunities - I mean Tasman1 is 100 years old + and earns $400+ a month :P

What a load of utter tripe :D I have been a part of Pinecone for years, and I know the type of surveys they have, people who are 55 years and older still need to eat food, buy groceries, and still consume the same products, I mean they are not yet eating out of toothpaste tubes they are still buying the same stuff - they specifically told her that she was refused because of her age - nothing about quota, that is discrimination in my opinion.

Valerie, I should have done this years ago, but I am considering filing a BBB complaint against Pinecone, for the unreasonable ban because of a short inactivity, they did not even warm me I would be banned -
Imagine if ySense had this policy, been a very active long standing member earning 5 figures, and 1 day God forbid I decide not to do any surveys here, and they ban me and say "Hey you ignored a few invites, we ban you"
PineCone my arse !

What a shame though, they paid a fixed rate of $3 per survey, usually only a few minutes short, and another $3 for testing a product at home and answering a follow-up, the products were food, and they pay by gift codes, a huge selection of them, or even a catalog of products and yes they have a PayPal and use $3 denoms and pay within 24-48 hours, unfortunately they are quite unethical and rude !

She is a member of ySense.

Yes, I call it racist. She is a woman. She's older than 55.

You can call it discrimination if you wish. Or call it something else.

The point is, they stink.

I know they do, I told you years ago  Believe me I understand your frustration......But age and gender is not a race  They have requirements based on age based on a common stereotype that people past a certain age are deemed worthless, they might argue it is not discrimination, but it sure is an unethical stereotype -nearly all of Pinecone's research is around food, so 55 year olds don't eat ? or do they think that they are fed through saline lines, yeah it is ridiculous but it's nothing to do with race, man vs. woman, and age is not race, RACIST would be refusing because of ethnicity and skin colour which is not the case, but yes I agree, they stink....

BTW how many surveys do you get from them in a month ? Assuming you are still a member of PineCrap....
I bet you that PineCone is run by Democrats - obviously their far left policies show !

I am a panel member with them for years and just this year, I noted there too many supposed DQ surveys.

Strange, you wouldn't believe how many surveys I completed with them and for those high level of DQ didn't added up.

I know that router did have access to ysense too and same problem here.

Putting every thing together like standalone vs GTP, I suspected that company may have had an issue with my IP.

While, they send an email explaining many survey invites where ignore, thankfully they allow me to explain.

In response, I explained my suspicions on IP thing and I warn, should this continue then no one including GTP programs would want dealing with them. I also include my IP address for their investigation.

Guess what? Problem solved!

@Darkstar2, no I am not a member. They kicked me out for obviously the same
reason they kicked you out. I did surveys on various stuff, not just food. I will
say this, their surveys were so boring and so repetitious that it made me want to
fall asleep. "I want this' 'I need this' bla bla bla.

Valerie that is put politely, to put an end to discriminatory behavior as such, people should take a stand and boycot them.

You probably won't get in because obviously they don't want older people any more.

It wouldn't do any good because of all their members and people they do allow in.

But I will say this, for the most part, that program is not as worthy as some people say it is.

Oh yeah I remember those  the SILLY, absurd questions "I absolutely absolutely need to have this I MUST have this I WANT to have this" every damn time, but I don't care, it's $3 a pop so they can ask me all the silly questions they want I wish I got paid $3 a survey here - bring in all the silly questions I'm in  Maybe in the US they have more surveys, for myself anyway, it was all food and beverage, they would send me the stuff by priority shipping, and generous portions too not just samples, but sometimes a week or two supplies, one time they sent me a whole box of cereal :D yeah the questions were similar, I guess they use a "template" for all their surveys. There was a time when they sent me up to 6 or more per month (surveys), how many did you get in a month ?

They should send warnings before banning people - I mean at the time I was inactive, I was earning 4 figures a month income online freelancing, work which required my full time attention, I couldn't be bothered about $3 surveys, 3 times a month, I even logged in my account to keep it active, their actions are unethical and uncalled for. I don't recall ANYWHERE in the terms that stated that I needed to commit to completing ALL invites. It's not like I was inactive for a long time, I ignored 3 invites at most, they are DISGUSTING !!!! Are they based on California ? the FAR LEFT socialist state ? if so, there is nothing we can do, in California state you can terminate someone at will, without needing to justify any reason, but I may still file a BBB / FTC complaint against them, and write to the CEO - if you are in my situation as well, it would help if you did the same, the more people complain and expose their unethical practices, the better - unless of course their terms state they can terminate you without warning, but they need to be specific on what constitutes inactivity, any non ambiguous written term is legally binding, I don't recall any terms stating that I needed to commit to ALL invites.

P.S. if you do complain to them directly, I would not use the term racism, they might go against you for that, it's best to focus only on the termination without warning for inactivity. I don't know how long your inactivity was, but mine was just a few invites, I had an EXCELLENT record with them, for years, and did ALL their invites, the least they could have done is write to me and remind me that I needed to complete my invites - they can go to hell now !

Tough luck, these market research companies allegedly, seem to believe that after 50, everyone has dentures, walks with canes and are busy planning their funerals, so they don't buy groceries, they don't watch TV, they don't do normal stuff, nope, it all stops from age 50

ahahah take a stand, since when do people do that, boycott what ? how ? that hardly works anyway because most people won't......... Look at Netflix, they were in hot water many times for the type of content they have allowed, calls for boycott were made, do you think it had any result ? What about Facebook and the delete your account campaigns, did it make any difference ? No, when it comes down to it, these companies are banking on the fact that most people look the other way and don't care about unfair practices, and only a tiny percentage make an issue.

Regarding PineCone, I would not go as far as suggesting a boycott, but anybody is entitled to share their bad experiences with them and how unethical and horrible their support is - unfortunately many companies get away with such behaviour because they know that most people won't do shit about it, by fear of repercussion.

I don't know how many they sent me a month. It wasn't enough, that is for sure.
Then when I missed doing some of them, they cut me off without even a kiss my backside goodbye.

They sent me junk mostly. I recall getting a six pack of foggy bottled soda. It didn't have any kind
of name on it. I did take one sip of it and tossed it all in the trash. It was horrible. I was afraid I
might turn into the nutty professor. Then when I took their survey, I said 'I need this product' and
'I want this product' and 'this product was tasty'. Yum Yum Good!

They also kept sending me bladder pads. My cabinets was running over with bladder pads. I guess
they thought I was pissing myself. 'I want this product' and 'I need this product' and 'they feel great'
and 'they fit just right'. I am high and dry! Now gimme my $3 bucks!

I thought about having a yard sale. I did the math. If I sold the bladder pads for $.20 each, I'd
make enough for a fine week long vacation. If I also sold all the bladder underwear they sent me,
I could take a three week vacation. Oh and yes those bladder underwear are so pretty. 'I want
this product' and 'Gimme then underwear' and 'Gee I feel sexy in the bladder underwear'!

hahahaha!

tasman1, I wouldn't be caught dead in them. :?

Well, I have to say if people need them, that is fine. Thus far, I have not had the need.
IF I should ever have the need, I am mighty sure I won't look like Queen of Sheba in them.
