Depends how you look at it all continents were formed from super continent Gondwana connected to what is Africa today,land mass started breaking away from the supercontinent drifting in sea to form individual continents called the continental drift which started 800 million years ago during this period the world ended three times,Australia was the first continent to separate from the supercontinent thats why we recognize it as the oldest continent to be formed,even India was formed from the supercontinent 45 million years ago connecting with the Chinese plate,as the Himalayas rose from the sea and setting down on the Indo Chinese plate,Himalayas were formed by volcanic activity below the sea over billions of years ago,260 million years later all continents will drift again to form a supercontinent
