If I had more money than Bill Gates, I would still not pay $495 for a pair of shoes. The flip flops I get at Walmart are just fine (for summer anyway).

I'll prefer Nike every day

And $495 isn't that much some collectable Nike shoes go for as much as $700

put it this way if i was to ever buy an expensive branded pair of shoes i would make sure they stay in the box, dust em occasionally for cobwebs :D and keep em for about 50 odd years, then take em to Sotherbys or Christies and have em' auctioned

lotoole you are right about walmart flipflops, back in the UK we call it Asda,i love their shoes, cheap, comfortable and long wearing too...i bought about 6 pairs with me when i came back, which cost i think no more than £35 pounds :D

i think china is the world's biggest manufacturer and exporter of virtually everything,it does have the world's biggest workforce and army..........all the shoes in pakistan come from china,so does stuff from next and top brands....but hey i did all my shopping in Asda's so am ok for the time being.

These shoes still made in china. Still employees 5 bucks a day. But charge shoes for 500 bucks. Pure greed.

yep i agree sweetpea....the labour force is manipulated around the world, get paid in peanuts and their efforts are sold for so much more,,,,so sad really..
some people have no choice but to accept minimum or low wage to make ends meet :(

i never buy expensive things,no need to,i wait for sales, look for alternatives,or sometimes do without,,more important than luxuries are food,a roof over your head and some decent clothes on your body.

i would usually buy a pair around $20 even though its made in thailand/china and won't last long....then when it worn out, i get to buy a 'new' pair again :) ....if buying a premium shoe means wearing for it for years (nahhhh!!!!!) others will think you are too thrifty. nothing last long in this world ...except $$$$ of course :D

i think if you look after things well you can get extra wear out of them, mind you im never the one for patching and stitching things up,i do know some stingy tight folk who actually do that and they can easily afford a new replacement, but its greed,,,why buy when i can mend lol
