They changed layout and put the "settings" area on the right, is it the find the tag one ?
Without giving any specific details or answers, this one is obvious, I believe it falls under
nuance, as the author wants to check something specific that is on the page.

@Darkstar, are you on Twitter? :D

I found this account under my notifications that mentions me and Rainforest. This account has replies to RF only.

No I don't have an account on twitter yet, my only communications to RF was through their e-mail and through turk opticon. :D

What notifications ? Are you saying there is a darkstar twitter account ? It's not mine anyway.

His writing style seemed a lot like yours that's why I asked (no, no-one's trying to be Darkstar on Twitter). And it's sorted now, I know who it is.

These posts are old, but I'll give my input on them.

I have seen some very high paid tasks on neobux that I never saw on CS that was years ago,
so yeah, channels can influence the type of jobs, but how ? when ? who ? why ? that is perhaps a closely guarded secreet of CF ! :D

Task authors can target jobs to certain channels, and can place their tasks on only a few channels, or block problematic channels. Some channels also have adult content disabled, and thus adult content jobs will not appear on those channels.

Send e-mail to tester@rainforestqa.com report this author.

This violates the TOS for test authors, they should never ask us for personal information or personal e-mails.

Or you could use any throwaway e-mail for hits........there are some temporary e-mail services too but I found those rarely work (long delay). :D

I think you can use the email service Rainforest uses. NAME@e.rainforestqa.com for the email and e.rainforestqa.com/NAME to view it.

Only asking for your personal email would be a TOS violation I think. Just asking for a working email isn't a violation, only a display of lazy test making.

Probably someone from here who read my post and conveyed the same concerns.

That was very insightful, thanks for posting this. A task author I know who posts tasks on CF once told me
that this could be done, I didn't know about the "NDA" thing, I know RF also has "NDA" hits, where you have
to sign an NDA before working on the HIT, but that is an option that costs more money so very few authors use it.
And the "problematic channel" proves what I have been saying all along that bad work submitted from a channel can impact the task for everyone. Your post just confirms that they can eventually discard problematic channels.
The same holds true for RF since they post assignment links to channels.

I know, but I never tried this, I don't know if RF would allow us to use it, though I was tempted to use it
a few times as I have used my throwaway e-mails before in a HIT and got spammed like crazy !

According to Crowdflower, NDA jobs are only given to people that have Crowdflower as their 9-5 regular job, who have to work on computers provided by the company and work in a office. I believe this would be the same for Rainforest.
We never see NDA jobs because regular users don't get the offer of signing an NDA.

I think Rainforest would prefer that you use their disposable email. That way they would be able to verify if an email came though or not, vital if the task autor complains about you not completing the test right. Whereas with other disposable email it is impossible to know if you've tampered with it or not before submission.
