vorabhargav wrote: Yes, lol, I was a part of those "golden" days. And moreover, that time, there were MORE client-hits as compared to Training Hits which is what we mostly keep doing now.

And RF's pricing plans were far more flexible too, they had several plans, they were far less expensive too.
Now they have only 1 plan, paid annually and charge nearly double they used to before. They also have a custom plan.

It's a competitive industry, and I think with RF's poor management and being the most expensive out there might be its breaking one day.........I'm trying to think of ANYTHING positive or any tiny bit of hope that things are improving but I'm a realist, I don't see any, I've never worked on as much training hits in the past weeks than I did in 1 year combined lol! When I look at their client list, it is the same, it has not grown, and MANY that are mentioned no longer post hits for a long time now, including ClassDojo. I have used CDOJO and see that they have a new site layout now, but there are many bugs I found using CDOJO on my own, so they could very well be using another company or stopped testing.

Reality #2: At $5k/month RF is targeting ONE market. Obviously only very big companies with lot of revenues would want to pay such money, so they limit the type of sites and clients, might not be bad really but these big companies already have their teams testing their sites, or they hire someone to do everything and manage their site.

RF once claimed they had 100+ clients..... ORLY ???? How many different sites are we testing now ?

I think Rainforest right now is like a slowly dying PTC that is showing mostly self sponsored ads and few
user ads.

Their worker base is growing fast, more people are hunting the jobs, more people are signing up to RF
and at the same time, less jobs, less clients.......

Support now is NIL, they don't respond to any tickets......They used to have a support guy who replied
quick now he's no longer working for RF........Many of the employees no longer work there anymore,
and I'm sure many lost faith in RF, because some of them removed RF references in their linked profile.

Without training hits most of us here would not even get our 10% bonus.

On days when I do 35-40, only 3 or 4 are actual client hits lol.

So at this point the whole task has become a charitable donation :P
"Test a training application".

I don't understand, their job listing is growing like wild mushroom, if you read their site
it looks like a company in solid growth, BUT ........ in practice, it appears totally different
with the hits we do....... On their web site the # of tests count goes up by several hundreds of thousands each day, where are all those hits posted !?!?!? they surely are not on mTurk.

So yeah, if anybody sees anything positive or thinks RF is going in the right direction please do share your point of view. I've not lost all hope yet like I mentioned before but it's been several months now and all I see is
the ball rolling down the cliff.

Just a tip, when you get paid your bonus for this job, you will see the JOB ID that was linked
to that oops in your CF inbox :D

The 21 stepper, is that the one that asks you to click on all the options on the site and compare to screenshots ? :D

Well, I'd say no because I couldn't hear it. That's probably not much help.

Click YES, there is audio!

You will not hear it in your terminal because the geniuses at RF did not set the terminal to support sound.

The fact there is no audio is NOT a web app bug, and the author wants to know if there is audio and video. Sasying no or other will mislead the author.

I opened the site and video in my own browser and can confirm that there is indeed audio,

so click YES.

That's what the author wants to know, there IS audio on his video, unfortunately you cannot hear it
through RF's shi**y terminal.

Hmm, I didn't know about that. When I do get paid, I will check it out.

What do you mean by clicking all the options on the site? I don't think I had that step. And yes, I had one screenshot to compare right on the beginning, but it was only one.

I edited my post above, I removed the part about proof, won't be necessary,
you just click yes and move on

I confirmed that there WAS audio by opening the site on my own browser.
This is not a web app bug so no use reporting it, the author would be misled.
I opened the pollev site and clicked the video in both firefox and chrome and audio worked.
SO that is proof good enough.

The test authors are not aware we don't have sound in terminal, I'm not sure even the
RF devs are aware even lol.

Terminals have never supported sound pass through.

Anything that is considered a web app issue/bug gets reported.

you can go into the control panel on the terminal and show the the terminal is playing audio on the page.

It isn't a site issue so you likely will get rejected if you report it as a bug. I have made that mistake before.

Their VMs support audio obviously, but it is not passing through the terminal.

Whoever developed this did not have the bright idea to enable this

I did a pricing simulation on Applause (formerly uTest-the biggest testing platform,with clients as Google,Netflix,Amazon,Forbes,etc.) for a medium-demands company,similar with 5k/month RF's pricing,and these are the results:QA testing: $6,300 - $11,700/month
Usability testing/other special demand projects: $79,100 - $146,900
So,this means the giant Applause raised prices too (they used to have abt same prices as RF),but Idk who started this raise.RF,Applause or other testing companies ? Hard to say... :?
