Hi! all friends.

CrowdFlower's channels affect the task availability for contributors .. How I know it? each channel has a specific folder that contains tasks available for this specific channel .. & when task is available it shows up in the task list linked to this folder .. & when CF receives Hits been posted by RF those hits are distributed to different folders which have the same name ( the job ID ) .. someone can correct me on this if I am wrong

I do not quite understand how you get several hits and I just get "There is no work currently are available in this task" and I refresh every 5 sec ... or you go the other route and not cs> cf> rf task...

can you explain me?

There is no other route, CF is your starting point, if there is no work you refresh until you see a blue link (assignment) you click on it, if a HIT opens, you complete it, if not you see oops......When you see oops you follow the instructions written in the red box.......Refresh. there are 2 ways to get hits 1) Direct hits 2) from oops (those were YOUR assignments but could not complete due to someone else before you, so you'll complete later).

Keep in mind it's first come first server and timing, time zone, etc, too many factors that influence how many hits you can do.

Your BEST way to get hits is to catch the batch EARLY be among the first who catches activity in a JOB ID, because it goes by so fast.....otherwise you will have to wait for next "wave" of hits.

You are not missing much, mostly broken hits, wrong sign/login info, etc.

RF hits come from one source, RF, through a dynamic assignment link they are given on a first come first serve basis, they too use "folders" hits are posted on turk and CF in their respective folders. I believe the folders are used to link to the channel, but given dynamic nature the hits will rotate across available channels and for whoever grabs it first.

I think CF works much the same from years of observation, these must go through a rotator of some sort as there are more workers and jobs obviously. You can see evidence of a rotator by manually refreshing task list and observing that some jobs disappear, new ones appear, disappear, even though they have lots of units left.

I don't know how many contributors CF has, maybe somebody has an idea ? 500,000 ???
I know RF has 44k-50k workers, how many active, I don't know, but I'm sure that there
is never enough work for ALL workers, so they rotate. There could be other methods
maybe someworker or some other CF staff can confirm this, that task authors have options
to target channels. From what I was told by a task author I know on CF, they can do so.

I have seen some very high paid tasks on neobux that I never saw on CS that was years ago,
so yeah, channels can influence the type of jobs, but how ? when ? who ? why ? that is perhaps a closely guarded secreet of CF !

right now I'm experiencing something wrong with cf ... suddenly I see lvl3 but with all the statistics to 0 and entered the config account and now I get 2 different id with the same "ClixSense" channel.

They know that you can be causing this? It really worries me because I did not do nothing



.... now i have 3 id... so ?

stagecj hit with abusive task author! Asking for an email i can check. Im so annoyed.

Same here. Only right now I have 2 elite channels on my CF account. The second one just showed up out of nowhere. Once again CF screw up. This is sooo anoying. They probably won't fix it anytime soon. I'm without badges because they think I'm a new contributor. I hate them sometimes.

I don't think so .. when you got the assignment link you can access it through the specific folder .. the dynamic side means the hits ( the content ) you will get can change but not the link/folder. For CF assignments .. since you can access them through the folder ( if available ) then folders ( channels ) influence the count of assigns you will get .. until CF distribute the same amount of assigns to each channels ( Folders )

I know Darkstar2 has stressed this before about Rejected Jobs numerous times, but here's something I'd like to share and this still makes me dazed over this:

I monitor my stats on the Portal Page (I know Darkstar2 has told the numbers keep swinging having no influence..).
However, I keep a watch on "Other Jobs" and "Approved Jobs" (where the percentage % is displayed).

My "Other" Jobs were 44; and today I noticed it has gone up by one - now it's 45. And simultaneously, my Accuracy which was so far 99% until now, has decreased by one point to 98%.

In my opinion, "Other" Jobs include Training Hits + Rejected work. This is what I personally think. Reason? Because that one point up from 44 to 45 was accompanied by a simultaneous plunge of Accuracy. And I haven't done any Training Hit so obviously it's not one of them.

I remember a CDojo Hit that I got 2 days back. I had reported an error as the pdf file wasn't getting downloaded. This was weird as it generally DOES get downloaded. I refreshed and tried several times but still the error was apparent, so I double-checked and it surely wasn't a mistake on my part.. I reported it rather than clicking YES.

And now this is when the Accuracy decrease came. Because it was definitely stable at 99% until yet, and so was the "Other" Jobs stats.

Whatever it may be, I am really pissed off at the new RF system that approves ALL your work and doesn't even give you a whiff about your rejections. They might think this was a good step to reduce our constant rejections which we faced earlier (I am a very old RF worker since 2014, so I am well-versed with the old system - those golden days; I would actually see the job ID appear several times a day, and sure I would get to do a good amount of hits, and plus there were many unfair rejections that I disputed and to date, all of them were approved).

There isn't any way to know now if you're rejected, and for which Job exactly. This makes it difficult to explain your stance. Like in my case, I am sure all others would've chosen YES instead of reporting the download error, and I got expelled unfairly.

There is no clear way to explain your stance to the Author or RF guys even if you were right! Albeit..you get banned and then, maybe, they review your work or whatever. But this makes no sense! This is like discouraging workers from performing honestly, if I find an error, I am sure to report it. But the reward I am getting for that is surely not appealing to me. This is very discouraging.

You will have to contact CF, only them can fix this.

I think this happened because you clicked on "find more work!" inside your dashboard.
When you this, it creates another account for same channel. CF never gets anything right
Please contact CF and provide them both your IDs, along with the ORIGINAL ID from CS.
They sent alerts warning people not to use the FIND MORE WORK button, and only
access tasks from your channel, not the dashboard.

Send e-mail to tester@rainforestqa.com report this author.

This violates the TOS for test authors, they should never ask us for personal information or personal e-mails.

Or you could use any throwaway e-mail for hits........there are some temporary e-mail services too but I found those rarely work (long delay).

10 task completed today for rf.. i'm 12 hours to refleshing.. Some of us do not understand how I can do 40 50 task one day..

Simply stay hunting for them the whole night & evening ( clixsense's time ) if you have the energy to do so .. seems more hits are dispatched during night than daytime.

I just would like to clarify something, the information I gave in the other topics were facts given to me directly by RF, Mr. Edward Paulet one of the senior support staff, and many times assured me that so long as we do our jobs correctly everything else is irrelevant. I can copy/paste all the info given to me by RF, if there was any person that was paranoid about rejection / yes workers / unfairness was me Those +/- discrepencies in portal are NORMAL and change over time, they have no effect on account. strongly disagree (partially) - We no longer have to wait for dispute, we get paid now
and no more worry of admin +1 ! Disputes they didn't always read notes. It did say
90% gets overturned, which means perhaps 10% get refused - Many reported that
their dispute was refused for no reason.

True, but you were NOT paid until the dispute approved. AND even if your dispute approved
the work "STATE" still remained rejected........which was VERY unfair.
+ you had the instant admin +1 / 20. All this was removed and replaced with their
new fraud check mechanism.

You get paid is what counts. You explain to the author exactly what you see and make a professional bug report ! The author will see discrete data of your terminal session and KNOW that you interacted with the site. Your reward ? Job well done, and you got paid. Whether you were rejected by RF's algorithm is no longer relevant.
If EVER you should get blocked you can ask for an account review.

Next month will be 1 year with RF, I have almost 7000 hits completed, I filed God knows how many bug reports, several hundreds only recently, and I am doing fine, and I was the most paranoid of everyone else regarding rejections. Now I am convinced and reassured. Quite the opposite now I feel better filing bug reports.
Because BEFORE the new system, 95% of the bug reports I did were rejected to yes workers.
NOW...... When RF added "transparency view" to the API it allows author to see MORE data.

Well in the end what matters is getting jobs and paid

The only person who knows the facts 100% about this is CrowdFlower engineeers
and they will never reveal all the secrets, all we can do by is speculation and observation.

I think there is more to things than we know, there are so many mysteries out there unexplained
like why some people can do several hundreds task unit of a task whilst another person can do
limit 1 or 3, even with constant refresh ......I think there is far more to it than folders or channels,
CF's task distribution is far from being fair and this was discussed for many years in different topics
