That is not 0,25 dollars! It is $0.25 only! Don't use punctuation in place of decimals. Any way, Congratulation!

Yes they use it but its wrong for using it because if you write 25,000.00 it means 25 thousand bucks, but if you write 0,25000.00 it is also correct to mean 25 thousand bucks, except if you write 0,25! It means 25 dollars and not 0.25 dollars. Did he earn 25 dollars? You cannot use punctuation in place of decimals as both are different in sense and meaning. A punctuation is used as a separator of digits for better viewing and understanding purposes, a decimal carries a numeric value and is used to attach a mathematical importance to a number. A decimal is not used in textual terms to separate words or sentences, a punctuation is used in that case. A decimal point is a division of a number by the multiples of numeric value 10, a punctuation is a decorative sign only.

He wrote $0,25. Which means Dollar 25 and not 0.25 dollars! Did he earn $25 or $0.25? Now that is a mystery to me!

@David0089 Thanks for explaining it bro , now i have a better understanding of the use of where and how punctuation can be used and their meaning , before i just thought they used simply in place of decimal but was not aware of how much importance that would carry if used wrongly . in this case 0,25 means 25dollars and not 0.25 dollars ;) yes you are right .

In some countries like Indonesia, Germany and many others, they use comma instead of a decimal.
Although it can be confusing for many of us, the member wrote it correctly according to the system they use.

$0,25 means 25 cents if you are from :
Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Canada (French-speaking), Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia (comma used officially, but both forms are in use elsewhere), Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Estonia, Faroes, Finland, France, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Greenland, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kirgistan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Luxembourg (uses both marks officially), Macau (in Portuguese text), Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam.

For other countries : $0,25 means $25 although its not the right way to write it. Simply write it as $25.

Anyways too much is being made out this small issue :$

Must have been a big headache, but some people write $0.25 cents! " Yippeeee i have won $0.25 cents, some one hug me!" Actually, they won only 25 cents or $0.25 only. They jump in excitement so they forget what they write. This is a common phenomena. ;)
