Well I'll just practice, as long as it counts towards the 10 posts that I just discovered I must make in order to gain access to the "Like" button for other member's post...

Is that fact hidden in the fine print somewhere?

No, this rule is not written anywhere. The restriction is in place so that people do not abuse this feature. Some people go crazy and start liking hundreds of posts for no reason.
