StormPay was a payment processor, period. Eventually, he did implement an area where users could use their funds to posts adverts in which users could click to view those adverts and earn a snippet of cash. Eventually, he did launch 'StormPayAuction' which was a separate program. Users of stormpay did not have to join stormpayauction. It was a pretty smart idea, tho. Because users or stormpay could use their stormpay funds at the stormpayauction.
I see this topic as very irrelevant because ClixSense has been online since early 2007. ClixSense has been going strong since the first day they launched and they have not slacked or let up. They continue to keep their cap on and allow suggestions, feedback, and implement what works.
It really does not matter who started the first PTC or what led to the 'PTC Craze'.
Fact of the matter is, ClixSense is a solid reliable program that is of great help to advertisers and members alike.
Obviously, everyone here agrees or they would not be here.
Actually, Richard Sturdy launched the first ever officially deemed PTC program. That wasn't in the 1990's, by the way.
Altho John had worked online many years dibbing and dabbing with this and that, he eventually launched StormPay which was by the way, a very good payment processor. Unfortunately, people don't have all the facts about StormPay and when their not in the know, they some times tend to holler scam. Your topic is not about StormPay, however. Anyway, John implemented a little PTC within StormPay as an additional way StormPay users could use funds for advertising...plus John probably did a bit of advertising himself as most program owners do.
It wasn't long that the light bulb went off in John's head. He saw how much the StormPay users enjoyed the PTC area that he implemented. Therefore, he came up with the idea to launch a full fledge PTC with all the bells and whistles. Hence, ClixSense was launched.
Keep in mind, altho the original PTC that launched by Richard some years before, was the first, it was and has never been, deemed the start of the PTC craze. In fact, WL was sort of slow in achieving the recognition it deserved.
After ClixSense launched, it became very popular very quickly. As marketers and programmers and what have you viewed it, they wondered how they could do the same...as is the case with most any suddenly popular program, people try to copy it.
PS. By the way, ClixSense was very trusted from it's start. People joined it left and right like and their data base grew rapidly.
Now I could sit here and name program after program, in exact order by the way, that launched after ClixSense do to the 'ClixSense Craze'.
BuxHosts (nextgen) certainly did not lead the way, in fact, they were mighty late in the game. Since BuxHost, is inexpensive hosting and inexpensive scripts, everybody and their bro and sister appear to launch them. Unfortunately, it takes a whole lot more than just shelling out the dough for hosting and a managed script to succeed with those...that is why the majority of them fail..and fail very quickly.
There was no PTC's at all in the 90's. None.

Of course, that is according to you stating you won't ever bother to gain referrals and your average is ten cents per day.
I don't know where you sit but where I sit, there is not a bank I know of that would give me $36 in a year for $15.
Also, with that being said, you might win some extra money along the way if you choose to do the clixgrid.
In addition, there may be times you average more than ten cents per day.
If you decided to edge your way into a little gung ho mode, gain a few referrals, you could easily make a lot more.
I don't know about all that Maliky. You could be right as I don't have any stats on it. I will say that CSR is very different from any survey programs I have been a member of. I don't have children living at home. I am 55 years old. I am divorced. Yet, I think I get a nice adequate amount of surveys to do. Many are product surveys. Some are business surveys. Some are opinion surveys. Many at the start of the survey or at the end of the survey will ask if you have children under 18 at home, I always say no but I almost always qualify to take the survey.
Some are about stuff like say buying a new vehicle and I don't think they care if you have children or not. Some are about various foods you buy or various store products. Some are about software you may use for filing tax's or doing your accounting etc. I've done some it seems on about everything from camping equipment to vehicles to food to bottled water to toothbrushes...and so on.
I'm sure some surveys might be about baby food or diapers or some such as that in which they would target those members that have children at home to do those kind of surveys.

James Stewart has always been one of my favorite actors. I have that movie in blue ray and it's so beautiful...you can see every speck of snow. When I grew up watching that movie, it was on a blurry tv.
