Leukemia victim begging for life. SPREAD THIS NOW! » Post #4

I've never been called to donate bone marrow but I am in the national database...been in there for about....20 years!
Or, maybe longer than 20 years. A long time.

I also donate blood. My blood is always in need but unfortunately, I am the type of blood that if I needed it,
would not be as easy.

At the hospital where I use to work for years, I had my own blood bank. I'd donate my own blood, to myself.
That way, if I was ever in the need of it, I would receive my own blood from my blood bank. This was an
employee benefit. Fortunately, I never needed it.

I'm RH0-

Report system is NOT a communication system » Post #7

Mon Jan 23, 2012 17:03 in Your Stats

Well, not sure we have noticed an issue with someone posting a quote using the report button.

What we do find often is members clicking the 'report' button thinking it is a way to communicate
directly to that particular member's posting. Not real sure why that is.

A member might post their payout and the next thing you know, someone has reported it and their
reported comment is 'good payout'.

When one uses the report button, it is to report the member for foul language, advertising, links,
or some such as that, that goes against the forums rules.

I think maybe it should be two word 'Report Abuse'. Something like that.

It would be nice that when we were born, some things such as our bone marrow would go into a national database.
That way, if the time arrived that you came up as a match, you could be notified and make the decision to give.

I think some day, that may be possible.

For now, it's a very huge and constant struggle to locate a match for people needing bone marrow transplants.

I hope they find a match for her.

I don't guess I have ever ate a real rice cake.

Rice cakes over here, are packaged in a long bag. The cakes are round and taste like cardboard. People that are on a diet, normally eat them. I guess dieters think they are good for you and I suppose they are very low in calories and no fat. Personally, I think eating cardboard would be less expensive and probably tastier.

So pray tell, what is a real rice cake exactly?

sparrow-net, your posting is actually very rude.

Talking about the weather and/or having some fun topics, is nothing bad, just the opposite actually.

This is why there is a general discussions forum. If members want to talk about the weather, play
a word game, etc, the general discussions area is the place to do it. There are members that like
to pass their time at the forum while they wait for ads to appear.

If you don't want to read a topic, don't read it. One thing is for sure, you have no rights to come
here and tell people to shut up. And if you want to leave the forum, you know where the door is.

Ya, it got hot here. A transformer out on the road got hit and the electric went out.
Nothing new. Seems every time there is a lightening storm, that transformer gets hit. I
called and they came out within the hour, fixed it.

It's so stuffy in here, I opened a couple of windows for a few minutes.

Snowing like mad some places.

Right now in this part of Tennessee, there's tornadoes and severe thunderstorms.

I wonder if there is a place on earth with perfect weather year round?

I use to hear that Hawaii had pretty good weather year round. But then, not long
ago they had some floods from too much rain.

Left to Right Typing and Why I do it - Tip » Post #1

Some people type like this. They create a span of sentences all across the block they are typing in. I some times do it too. However, there is something to be said about typing not all the way across a block. I just wanted to explain this to you as it is a tip. When you type all the way across a block, it means the person viewing your block, must move their eyes further across the block to read every word. This really is ok on forums and discussion boards. When typing important messages to someone, don't type all the way across the block. Instead, do like this:

Also in important messages, make inappropriate paragraphs so they will
be shorter:
